Permanent Supportive Housing

Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) is another new program that began in fall of 2018. PSH is for individuals and households who have persistently experienced homelessness and where other housing interventions have not been successful. When clients are enrolled in PSH, they sign into a standard lease for their own rental and have no time limit on when they need to move out. They pay a lower percentage of their income towards rent and receive intensive one-on-one case management to help them meet their goals and address any remaining barriers while they work towards self-sufficiency and self-reliance.

Services Offered to PSH Participants

Regardless of the barriers the client may have faced in the past, our Permanent Supportive Housing Case Manager meets individually with each client to assess what needs they may have while working towards housing stability. Their case manager assists the clients with resources and referrals, as needed, which may include vocational, and employment services, mental and physical health services and financial management assistance, as well as general advocacy and support. Our primary goal is to assist households in PSH maintain their housing and meet any current and future housing goals.

Willis Dady's PSH Units

Willis Dady has 32 PSH units in Cedar Rapids, IA. These units range from full efficiency suites to 1+ bedroom apartments, or rooms in communal living homes for designated populations. Referrals for PSH are received through Shelter Services. If you are experiencing literal homelessness and are seeking housing, please contact Shelter Services at 319-366-7999.

Welborn House was our first PSH home to open in 2018 and has 5 rooms for single men.

WESTMINISTER

4 Rooms for Male Veterans

Westminister opened in 2023 and houses 4 single male Veterans expereincing homelessness. Contact Shannon Fay at shannon@willisdady.org to learn more.

This home opened in 2021 to serve 4 single women experincing homelessness.

CRESTWOOD

5, 1+ Bedroom Apartments

Willis Dady collaborates with Crestwood Apartments to have 5 units of supportive housing. A PSH case manager hosts regular office hours and meets clients weekly staying there.

1247 Units

4, 1 Bedroom Apartments

Willis Dady has 4, 1-bedroom apartments at our Emergency Shelter location. These units are on the first floor facing the parking lot and are fully separated from our offices.

CHANDLER PUMP APARTMENTS

13 Apartments  

Opening in 2024, the Chandler Pump Apartments have Studio, 1 bedroom, and 2 bedroom units available. 13 fully furnished apartments are available.
